If you decline, or ignore the banner

No cookies. Not for analytics, not for advertising, not for preferences. Nothing is loaded from Google either — the tag is fetched when you accept and not before, so declining is not a setting we honour quietly, it is a request that never happens.

Your choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage so we do not ask again. That is a marker, not a cookie, and it never leaves your device.

If you accept analytics

We load Google Analytics, which tells us which pages people read, how they arrived and what they do next. We use it to work out which parts of this site are worth keeping and which are not.

It sets two cookies, both on this domain: _ga, which gives your browser an identifier so repeat visits are counted as one person rather than several, and _ga_GL6TS5EHQ0, which holds the state of your current session. Neither carries your name, your email or anything you typed.

Google is the data controller for what it collects, and their terms apply as well as ours. We do not run advertising, and the advertising signals Google offers are switched off rather than left unset.

Changing your mind

Clear this site’s data in your browser and the question comes back. If you would rather we deleted anything already collected, email hello@oynk.co.uk and we will.

The carbon badge

The badge in the footer is served by EcoPigs and reports what this page costs to load. To work that out it measures the visit: how long the page was open, how far you scrolled, and how many times you interacted with it.

It keeps a single marker in your browser’s local storage so it can tell a first visit from a return. That is a marker, not a cookie, but it is still something stored on your device, which is why it is written down here rather than left out.

It sets no cookies, never sees what you type or what you enter in a form, and does none of this at all if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.

The tree badge

The badge in the footer showing how many trees we’ve planted with The Greener Earth Project is provided by them. It reads our public figures from their servers and keeps a copy in your browser’s local storage, under ge-badge-v1, so it does not have to fetch them on every page.

It sets no cookies and does not track you. The only thing it asks their servers for is those figures.

The booking calendar

If you load the booking calendar, Cal may set cookies of their own at that point. That is the reason it waits for you to ask rather than loading with the page.
