Accessibility
Built to AA, and tested by hand.
WCAG 2.2 Level AA, with zero automated violations across all 95 pages. Automated tests catch some of it; the rest we check ourselves.
What we conform to
WCAG 2.2 Level AA, and past it in the two places it is cheapest to be generous. Body text runs at 7:1 contrast where AA asks for 4.5:1, which is the AAA threshold. Every interactive element is at least 48 by 48 pixels on every device including desktop, where AA asks for 24.
We aim for AAA wherever the content allows it, and a good deal of this site already meets it. We publish AA because AA is the level we can evidence end to end: a number of AAA criteria cannot be tested automatically at all, and some of them cannot be met by prose that has a job to do. We would rather state the level we have checked than the one we are working towards.
How we test
axe-core across every page in the sitemap for the automated pass, then manual checks: keyboard-only navigation, screen reader behaviour, and contrast measured against the colour actually behind the text rather than the one in the design file.
Motion on this site is driven by scrolling, so nothing runs on a timer. Everything decorative is held back by prefers-reduced-motion. Nothing moves on its own for more than five seconds without a way to stop it.
Known limits
The booking calendar is Cal’s software, not ours, and we do not control its markup. If it gets in your way, email or ring us and we will book the time for you.
Tell us if we got it wrong
If anything here is hard to use, we want to know. Email hello@oynk.co.uk or ring 0800 009 6067. We will fix it and tell you when it is done.
