OYNK's approach to digital sustainability

OYNK Ltd is a digital sustainability consultancy. Our work focuses on reducing digital waste and improving website performance so that digital services use fewer resources and generate lower emissions. We apply these principles through design and engineering choices such as lean page structures, efficient asset delivery, and performance-led builds.

Internal application

We apply the same approach to our own operations and digital properties. Our website is hosted in the United Kingdom on infrastructure verified as green by the Green Web Foundation. We use internal measurement methods to assess performance and emissions factors and to inform ongoing improvements.

Scope 3 Awareness and Supplier Boundaries

As a service-based business, OYNK recognises that Scope 3 emissions exist across our value chain. We do not currently publish a quantified Scope 3 total. This is due to data quality limitations, inconsistent supplier transparency, and the need to ensure methodological integrity.

Our approach is to reduce Scope 3 impact through practical actions rather than offsets. We prioritise suppliers with public sustainability disclosures where possible, favour green-hosted and energy-aware infrastructure, and reduce data and compute demands through performance optimisation and data minimisation.

Supplier Sustainability Disclosure (Non-Numerical)

We assess suppliers based on their operational relevance, transparency, and sustainability practices. Where possible, we select hosting and infrastructure that is verified as green by the Green Web Foundation. We remain aware of regional grid intensity when modelling digital emissions, using UK National Grid ESO Carbon Intensity data to inform internal analysis. We prefer suppliers that publish climate or sustainability commitments, but we do not assume or report supplier emissions without verified data.
